Sunny Style: Personalised Hairstyle in Melbourne

What is a Personalised Hairstyle, and How Do I Specialise in It?

If you're new to me—hi, I'm Sunny! I create personalised hairstyles in Melbourne. This post is an overview of my services and how I craft haircuts that truly fit you.

What is a Personalised Hairstyle?

A personalised hairstyle is the dream look in your head—the one you want but might not know how to describe.

Each of you is unique—why? Because your preferences, head shape, hair texture, flow, thickness, density, and even colour all come together like a fingerprint. Even identical twins have different hair movements and style preferences!

A personalised hairstyle balances:✔️ Your desired look✔️ Your natural hair characteristics (length, density, growth pattern, cowlicks, etc.)✔️ Your daily hair routine and styling habits✔️ Your comfort level and confidence✔️ Your budget

The goal? To create a haircut that seamlessly blends all these factors—so you feel confident effortlessly.

How Do I Make a Hairstyle Personalised?

Before I cut a single strand, I need to fully understand what you want. That’s why consultation is one of my two key steps to a personalised haircut.

But here’s the thing—most people struggle to explain what they want. That’s normal!

Most cases fall into these three categories: 1️⃣ You know what you want but don’t know how to describe it.2️⃣ Something about your hair annoys you, but you don’t know why or how to fix it.3️⃣ You’re unsure what suits you best.

And guess what? Even I feel that way sometimes! For example, when I started building my website in Feb 2024, I had a vision but didn’t know how to explain it. My preference kept changing—from dark and elegant to soft pastels—before I finally landed on a creamy background. (If you’re curious, I’ll tell you why next time!)

So if you’re unsure, that’s okay. It’s my job to help you figure it out! 🤣

Do You Need a Personalised Hairstyle?

Take this quick self-check! Score yourself for each question from 1 (not really) to 5 (absolutely yes!)

Question

Score (1-5)

Do you often feel your haircut doesn’t quite match your vibe?

Do you struggle to style your hair at home?

Do you feel your current haircut isn’t working with your face shape?

Have you had haircuts that felt “off” even after showing a reference photo?

Do you feel your hair grows out too awkwardly?

Do you want a style that looks good with minimal daily effort?

Do you wish your hair felt more “you”?

Have you ever thought, “I like my hair, but something’s missing”?

Results:

30+ points → You really need a personalised hairstyle! Let’s fix this together.

💡 20-30 points → Your desired look is achievable, but it might take a bit of effort and refining.

Below 20 points → Your hair already suits you well! Personalised hairstyling would be an extra level of refinement.

What’s the Difference Between a Regular Haircut and a Personalised Haircut?

A regular haircut follows a set technique, often based on trends or a simple request. The stylist cuts your hair without deeply analysing your individual features and needs.

A personalised haircut is crafted with strategy and thought. It considers:

  • Your natural features (head shape, face shape, hair texture, cowlicks, movement, and how your hair grows out)

  • Your lifestyle (how much time you spend styling, how you like to wear your hair daily)

  • Your personal brand (how you want to present yourself)

It’s not just a haircut—it’s a customised frame for your face and personality.
