How I Help Tillie from " I hates my grey hair" to " I enjoy grey gracefully"

"Sunny to be professional, caring and friendly during our consultation and hair analysis. He listened to my concerns, dreams and expectations. The colour transformation was done with our chat in mind, and I noted how passionate, skilled and attentive he was to me."

Client Hair Background
Tillie lives in Queensland and works in a busy dental clinic. She hated how her grey regrowth made her feelâ"like an old woman" or too unpolished for her professional image. Under the clinic lighting, her grey line looked harsh, and she felt self-conscious. She wanted a look that felt fresh, natural, and soft, but without the full-bleach damage.
In our consultation, I explained that blending greys coverage coloured coarse, dark Asian hair often needs a planânot a one-and-done fix. Tillieâs original greys were patchy and stubborn, we decided medien impact diemnsional foil balayage to balance presentage of grey the best, and Tillie agreed to a 3-session plan over 12 months.

What`s my thought & How I do
To blend grey hair, how much foil we use depends on how much grey you have.
In Tillieâs case, a full head of foils was the best way to break up the area where she had a lot of grey concentrated in one spot.
đ¨ What Colour Should You Choose?
The highlight colour depends on your personal vibe:
If you love an edgy, cool, sharp look â go with silver or ash tones. They feel powerful and modern.
If you want that natural, glam, Real Housewives vibe, I recommend going blonde or cool beige. These tones blend grey beautifully while looking soft and luxurious.
Tillie preferred a natural elegance â so we went with a cool beige tone.
đď¸ 1st Session â 5 June 2024 (Full Head Foil Balayage)
We used full-head foils to soften the harsh regrowth line.
Because Tillie had box-dyed her hair before, we had to be careful â artificial colour is stubborn when lightening. I removed as much as I safely could, but the priority was to protect her hair condition.
The goal wasnât just âget blondeâ â it was to get beautiful, soft colour without snapping the hair.
The first result was a soft golden tone (not yellow), which is the safest way to lift grey-covered hair in the beginning.
đď¸ 2nd Session â 22 October 2024 (Lasted 5 Months)
We touched up with a 3/4 head foil balayage, adding more brightness and refining the toner.
Why 3/4 head?
Because we focused on the front and top area â where grey shows the most â and left the underneath to save the budget and reduce bleach exposure.
The tone shifted toward a cool beige, and the blend looked brighter, softer, and more natural.
đď¸ 3rd Session â 7 June 2025 (Lasted 8 Months!!)
This visit was a T-Section Touch Up, just maintaining the top where grey shows the most.
And honestly, I was so happy â the colour had lasted 8 months and still looked soft and fresh. It didnât scream:
âSo much grey nowâ
âLooks oldâ
âDidnât take care of herselfâ
Instead, it still had:
â
Natural dimension
â
Soft grow-out
â
No harsh regrowth line

What the client says:
"During my visit to Melbourne, I decided to pamper myself with a new colour and new hairstyle. I found my hairdresser, Sunny, to be professional, caring and friendly during our consultation and hair analysis. He listened to my concerns, dreams and expectations. I have dark brown, almost black hair - being half Asian and also have grey hair that I wanted coloured. The colour transformation was done with our chat in mind and I watched Sunny during our appointment and noted how passionate, skilled and attentive he was to me. I highly recommend and will be booking again, thank you Sunny! âď¸ đđ˝"
